The Associates in Family Dentistry was started in 1969 in
Northern Colorado by Dr. Eric Pettine. The original family dental practice was located on Prospect Street, near Colorado
State University. Dr. Pettine came to Fort Collins in 1969 upon his discharge from the United States Air Force. The
Pettine family had been stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Anchorage, Alaska. Fort Collins was a bustling farm commmunity with a population of about thirty-eight thousand and the south edge of town was Drake
Road. It immediately became apparent that there was room for one more excellent dentist in the community. Before
long, his dental practice was as busy as he had hoped it would be. His three children were attending area grade schools.
His wife, Ann, was busy taking care of a husband, three children, a dog, and a home, while attending CSU on a course that
eventually would lead to her own practice in Clinical Psychology.
In 2000, one of Dr. Pettine’s dreams
was realized when he found the perfect partner to assist him in providing quality family dental care to his cherished clients.
Dr. Michael Mucci came to Fort Collins to work with Dr. Pettine. This partnership has allowed the Associates in Family Dentistry
to provide more hours, and more convenient hours, to the service of their clients. Dr. Pettine strongly felt that only
a family person would have the experience to properly care for a families’ dental needs. It was a wise choice
and Mike Mucci, his wife Janet, son Dominic, and daughter Cristina are now a part of the Fort Collins extended family.
